Our Tough Trooper

My little baby had to have some out-patient surgery yesterday. We had to be at the hospital at 6:15. I seriously can't remember the last time we were up that early. It was rough. Once there we waited around 30 minutes before they called us back to the prep room. He got dressed in his little hospital gown and just didn't have a clue what was about to happen to him in a little bit. Moi and Papaw were there for support and brought Brock some goodies, which kept him quite entertained while we waited. They took him back around 7:35 and they didn't give him an IV until after he was asleep. Good idea! But, after about an hour, which seemed an eternity to me, the Doctor came back and told us that everything went great. So, after waiting another 30 minutes they brought him back from recovery and we got to see him. The nurse said he woke up smiling. (That's my Brock!) He was very tired and groggy and just slept for the longest time. We finally had to start bugging him to wake up so we could go home. They wanted him to pee first, so luckily he did! He enjoyed his very first popsicle and had some animal crackers and water. After leaving the hospital we went to Culver's to get some lunch. He wasn't hungry at all and on the way there I thought he was looking a little green in the face. We got all the way through lunch, and then Brock starts throwing up in the restaurant. Poor baby! I think he started feeling better immediately. When we got home, he started playing with Jillian and watched the Cars movie twice. After a nap, you would have never guessed this little boy had ever had surgery that morning. He is so tough. I'm hoping today and the rest of his recovery go as smoothly! God was definitely watching my little baby for me!
