Ahoy Matey!

Tonight was our church's fall festival. It was so windy and chilly though they held all the festivities inside. Good idea! Brock this year is a pirate and Jillian tonight was a Lady Bug, but on Halloween she'll be a pumpkin. It was just too cold for her cute little pumpkin outfit. We're hoping it will be more suitable for Texas weather! Brock got a big kick out of carrying his little Elmo bag around getting lots of goodies. He caught on fast! He got to spend time with his buddy, Sean, the monkey. He got his face painted, played with balloons, bobbed for apples, won a cake on the cake walk, on our first try I might add, got to visit with Moi and Papaw, and of course ate way too much candy! We are definitely giving those teeth a good brushing tonight!

Bobbing for Apples

At the fall festival at church tonight they had a station set up for doing a little bobbing for apples. Brock LOVES apples, so of course he was fascinated. At first he just sat there and poked at the apples in the tub, but after "World's Best Dad" showed him how to do it, he was all about it! I think he licked about three or four apples before he just grabbed one up. And then, he ate the WHOLE thing, core and all. I tell ya, he loves apples!

What's the Deal?

Last night after Brock got into his jammies, I looked away for a second and the next thing I see is his arm sticking out of his neck hole. I have no idea how he got it out since they were zipped up to his neck. I wish I could have seen him do it! Then this morning when I went to get Jillian out of her crib, I see she has her arm out of her jammies! I have no idea how she got her arm out either!

The Great Pumpkin Patch '08

My parents, sister, & I took the kids to Arthur to the Great Pumpkin Patch last weekend. That place is so stinkin' neat! Last year Brock was so easy, just rolling him around in the wagon. This year, he was off and running everywhere. Jillian was pretty easy, but boy, it was unusually hot, but we still had a fun time. Brock even got to pick out a little pumpkin for himself and Jillian.

Watching the Rain

So, there isn't really anything special about this post, but yesterday as it was raining the kids were just sitting so nicely together watching it rain outside. They are so sweet together, I just love it.

Fun at Gym Night

I took Brock & Jillian to Rantoul's Gym Night last Friday. Aunt Ashley was in town on a little college break so she got to come and join in on the fun, too. They both loved it! Jillian got to have a little play date with one of her future boyfriends, Joel. Brock loved riding the little trikes and playing with the cars. I was trying to get him to venture out to other things to play with since he plays with cars pretty much all day at home, but oh, no, I think that was his favorite spot this time! We're looking forward to next months!

Mommy's BIG Helper

Brock LOVES helping out! Yesterday we attempted to make some of my Grandma's Trojan Bars for Aunt Kindi's birthday. Brock put in all the ingredients! I'm sure if he could talk in complete sentences he'd tell you his favorite part was licking the batter off the paddle. Too bad Mommy didn't bake them long enough and they were straight up goo when we cut into them!!! I guess that means we'll just have to try again another time! (Hey, I never claimed to be Betty Crocker!)

Pretty Girl at 9 Months

So, I guess I best post some super cute pictures of Jillian to make up for her snotty nose shots. She'll be 9 months old on the 12th so this post is just a few days early, but I don't see her making any drastic changes between now and then. She's getting really good at crawling these days. She's standing up, not always sure about how to get down without a big plop. She even attempts to stand alone, but it only lasts a few seconds. She's got two teeth on the bottom coming in and she loves putting anything and everything in her little mouth. She idolizes her brother and LOVES her mama! (Daddy, too!)

Snot 'n Boogers

So, this post is not for those with weak stomachs....so you've been warned! This is just a little snapshot of my life the past few weeks. Both kiddos have been snotty and coughing for the last couple weeks. I thought we were past it, then wham! We're back for round two. I can't possibly understand how they both get it, I mean, I don't willingly let them share sippy cups or pacifiers or anything like that...

I Can Stand UP!

The day after Jillian figured out crawling, she started pulling herself up on the couch. She saw her cup up there and was really motivated to get it. Now, she's pulling herself up on everything and I betcha it won't be long before she's walking!

Fun Times at the Park

We went to the park a couple weeks ago and Brock had the best time playing in the sandbox. The next thing I know, he's laying on his back just grabbing handfuls of sand and dumping it on his face. It was everywhere! He knew it got in his eyes, yet he would go for another handful and do it again. It was quite disgusting. Jillian and her sweet little leg rolls enjoys the swing every time we visit the park. Soon she'll be right up there on the slide with her big brother!
