Fun At The Children's Museum

While we were in Indianapolis we had to make a visit to the Children's Museum. It was really fun! It brought back some field trip memories from back in my teaching days. I think that's what had me prepared for the visit, unlike TJ, who thought it was a lot of WORK. The first area we hit was the dinosaur section. I wasn't sure if Brock was going to like it or not since we've been having dinosaur nightmares, but he did! Then it was on to the train section, which he is a HUGE Thomas the Train fan. Getting him out of that section wasn't very pleasant. Then they had some water activities where they could play with little sail boats and see how dams and rivers work. There was just so much other stuff, too. There was one section specifically for kids five and under and that was a big hit, too. It was definitely worth it and I look forward to going back when they are bit older!

Lions, Tigers, and Bears...OH MY!!!

Ready or not...here we come!

This Memorial Day weekend we took a little family vacation to the Indianapolis Zoo. It was super hot outside and yet the kids were little troopers and really loved going through the zoo. We saw lots of animals and actually went through the zoo faster than we thought. Some things were just too hard to see and we weren't about to stop and read every little posting about the animals. I think Brock's favorite thing was the playground we stopped and played at before the dolphin show. It was a long day and they were definitely tuckered out!

Aunt Ashley is a College Graduate!

We drove down to Arkansas for Ashley's Harding University graduation. My baby sister is a college graduate! (Makes me feel a little old, considering I graduated from there 9 years ago!) We had a great time hanging out with Uncle Dustin and Stacy and getting to swim in the hotel pool. Brock loved it and Jillian, well, it took her awhile to warm up to the idea, but they didn't want to get out after they figured out how much fun it was! It was a great weekend. TJ didn't get to make the trip due to work, but I managed pretty well. Brock I think is going to start needing to wear his leash when we go out. For some reason, he feels the need to runaway from me whenever I put him down anywhere we go. Talk about annoying and frustrating! Then he of course got restless during the graduation and ended up dropping his Lightening McQueen car down the bleachers onto the floor. Luckily we got him back when we had to take our own personal intermission. We ended up getting all of Ashley's stuff loaded up in a U-Haul trailer and off we headed back to Illinois. I guess the next Harding trip will be when Brock heads down for college!

Playin' in the Sand

Gotta love this action shot of blue sand flying! (Luckily not in his face!)

After a few days of feeling on the puny side, we were finally able to head outside today! Our neighbors gave us their sand/water table and so I bought some blue sand and beach toys at Wal-Mart. They loved it! I think the concept of keeping the sand in the box needs a little work. It was everywhere!!! And sunscreen and snot aren't a good mix with blue sand, just as a sidenote. Look carefully and you'll see the blue sand on their cute little faces.

Little Monkey

Little Miss Independent...has to eat her banana all by herself. No more Mommy holding it for her...she's growing up (too fast, I might add).

Sharing a Sandwich

I fixed the kids turkey and cheese sandwiches yesterday for lunch. I was feeding Jillian and just handed Brock his sandwich. Next thing I know, they are both sitting back behind the recliner and Brock is tearing little pieces off of his sandwich for Jillian. They seemed to be having the best time just sitting there together. It was so sweet and cute. He really does love her most of the time. Then I gave him his other half, since she seemed to take most of his first half, and then he decided to share with Buddy. So nice.
