Brock's Busted Lip

Well, we've survived our first late night trip to the ER. Hopefully it isn't a sign of times to come with this little man who is definitely ALL boy. While taking a bath on Monday night, Brock decided to do a little too much splashing. The water was draining and he was still splashing. So much so that his little arms slipped out from under him and he did a face plant on the bottom of the tub. His bottom teeth went through his upper lip and it was pretty bad. After being examined by the Dr., he decided that stitches were going to be the best route due to how low the cut was to his lip. They put some numbing stuff on his upper lip and we waited and waited and waited. Finally they came to do the stitches, and Brock would not have it. He screamed bloody murder and after finally getting one stitch in, which was the closest one to his lip, they decided they'd just glue the rest. So, after getting some penicillin to prevent an infection since he had cuts inside his lip, too, we finally made it home at 2 am. It was a long night! He's doing great though. We keep a band-aid on his lip so he won't pick at the glue. We go Saturday to get the stitch out and then we are going to hope some Mederma will help with any scarring. He's one tough cookie.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I'm so glad to hear that he is okay - how scary though! Hope Mom and Dad are hanging in there too. Give that cutie a kiss... poor guy!
