Easter Bunny Time

Today I took the kids to see the Easter Bunny.
I knew it was going to be interesting to see if Jillian would have anything to do with him since she's never liked him or Santa, but she seemed pretty excited about seeing him this year.  She's been talking about it forever!  So, it was our turn and I brought my camera to take my own pictures since I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for their pictures...and wouldn't you know it?  My camera will NOT snap for anything.  Talk about frustrating.  All three of them were sitting so nicely and nada, zip, zilch...I'm getting NOTHING.  So, we did have to go for the two 5X7 option.  Afterwards we headed off to go get a pretzel, and as I'm digging in my purse for a coupon, that never did turn up, a mall cop comes up and gives me two tokens for the carousel in the food court.  So sweet.  I told them, it was completely up to them if they wanted to ride because I would NOT be riding, as those things make me nauseous.  They were all for it!  So, I thought, hmmmm.... let's just see if I can get this camera going again.  What do you know?  It worked.  So, back to Easter Bunny we go to get another FREE photo, and who didn't want to sit by Mr. Easter Bunny?  It took a lot of coercing but she finally agreed to sit by Brock.  Whew.  Talk about exhausting!

Happy 80th Birthday, Grandma!!!

This weekend my amazing grandma turned 80 years young.
I am so blessed and thankful every day that I am fortunate enough to have both sets of my grandparents still living.  I just wish my other grandparents lived closer so Brock & Jillian could be around them more, too.
To celebrate, Grandma wanted to keep it simple, so we all met up at Monical's and had pizza.  Jillian had been running a fever for a few days, so I thought it'd be best to let her stay home with TJ, who also wasn't feeling the best with his allergies flaring up.
We had a great time, and even got to spend some time with my gorgeous Aunt Susan who came up for a weekend visit.  I wish she lived closer, we LOVE laughing it up and hanging out with her.  She's just a ray of sunshine and I LoVe being around her!

{See, I told you she's just gorgeous!}

And it wouldn't be a par-tay without some yummy cupcakes!
I wanted to try out a new recipe from my friend, Connye, so I whipped up some of these coconut cupcakes.  I thought they were pretty yummy!  If you want to make some yourself, check out my other blog HERE!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!!!
We LOVE You!!!
XOXO

Stinkin' Birds

So, you may recognize this as the outside of our house...

Last fall I added this cute basket and flowers...

And now for some reason, some little bird thinks it looks like the perfect spot to make his lovely abode.

Not once...but twice!!!
Stinkin', stinkin', birds!

Watch Out World

Brock, come on down!
You're the next contestant on...
"Awesome Deals Your Mama
Found at OWB!"
And what's behind curtain #1???
Why, it's a NEW BIKE!!!!

So, yesterday I got to go shopping at my favorite twice yearly consignment sale, One Week Boutique.  I LOVE finding a good deal and racking up my kids' summer wardrobe for super cheap!  But, when I saw this bike, I knew Brock would LOVE it.  It looked brand new and was only $25.  So, luckily a friend who was getting into the sale 2 hours before me volunteered to grab it and put it in the holding area for me with my name on it.  Awesome.
For me the best part about OWB is that it feels like Christmas when you get home and get to go through all your treasures and steals deals.  So, I was super excited to see Brock's little face light up when he saw this bike.  And light up it did.  Until... he tried riding it and couldn't figure out how to ride it without constantly pushing down the brake.  So, we went from Yippeeee, to "Mom, I don't like that bike."  Again... awesome.
So, away it went into the garage.
We went back outside to play again today and after being outside for awhile, I asked him if he wanted to try out his new bike again, and I was pretty surprised when he said yes.  So, out comes the bike.  And what do you know... he could do it!!!  Yes, I know...I'm an AMAZING teacher, what can I say?
So...Watch out World!!!  And people driving cars on my street, please!

And off he goes... *tear*
Can someone please just tell me where the pause button or slow motion button is on my life?  They are just growing up way too fast.  I. Don't. Like. It.  Not one little bit.  If Staples can have an Easy button, I think it's only fair that I get a Slow Down Please Button.

And speaking of slowing down...
This poor little munchkin has had a ROUGH go of it the past two days.  Yesterday while playing she tripped and jacked up her little cheek and underneath her nose.  I'm still not sure how she did it since I was trying to get Brock to figure out the whole pedaling bit on the bike.

Then today while playing outside, she trips and falls AGAIN and skins up both knees, arms, and fingers.  Awesome.  It's going to be a fun summer if she keeps this up!

CIRCUS

My parents and sister and I took the kids to the circus recently.
It was so fun!  I think their favorites were the elephants and motorcycle guys.  And what's the deal with clowns these days?  They were entertaining, but boy, they just don't make 'em like they used to!

Spring Picture Day

My Mother-in-Law was wanting to get some photos taken of the grandkids so last weekend we took them all to Portrait Innovations for a fun little photo session.  Here's some of the best...

Stronger

As I was driving to my grandparents' house yesterday this song came on the radio and totally spoke to me.  I feel like it basically describes the last 6 months of my life with TJ being off work with his injury and my whole routine being turned upside down.  I know this whole experience is only going to make us "STRONGER."

BUSTED!

So, it's almost teeth brushing time...
Jillian scampers off holding a bag of fun size M&M's...
I enter the kitchen and find Little Miss Innocent.
Although, I'm pretty sure she is far from innocent...
In fact, I'm pretty sure she's....TOTALLY BUSTED!
She had NO idea she left evidence on her sweet little face.
{And I couldn't even get mad.  Just look at that sweet, precious face!}

SNOWMAN

TJ went in for his foot surgery Friday morning so my mom came and stayed the night Thursday night so I wouldn't have to bother with waking the kids up.  Of course, Thursday night, after a week of warm temps, what do you know but we get MORE SNOW!  {I'm so SICK of snow.}  So, the kids got to go outside and play in the snow with my fierce-snow shoveling Mama, they even built a snowman!  I think they both enjoyed eating the snow more than anything!

Dacey's face cracks me up here!  So funny!

Brock & his buddy, Matthew
Tell me we aren't going to have trouble with these two when they get older...

So, we had some of our friends over this weekend for a little Heart Day Party.  We decorated cookies, had ice cream sundaes, passed out valentines, and had a little story.  So. Fun.  Everything was so cute and the kids had a lot of fun!  To see party decor pics click HERE!
