Let's Play A Game...

So, who can spot all the differences ONE year can make? I'll give ya a second to study the picture before spilling all the answers.... ok, one thousand one...times up! Well, the '09 picture was taken in the evening. The '10 picture was taken in the morning. Lesson learned, if you don't want squinty eyes or your kids' hands in front of their faces for every picture, stick to evening photo sessions. Jillian's looking a little taller, hair a little longer, but still gotta have that white hair bow! Brock is also looking as though he's grown some, even though he is wearing the same shirt as last year. The beach water was much more beautiful last year. No tar balls where we were at, but the water this year was washing up a lovely green color and spitting out lots of yucky algae, which you may notice in the '10 picture there by their hands. But the one thing that stayed the same... they still love each other. (Even if we had to use bribery this year...)

Beach Day

Little Miss Raegan, not a fan of the sand.

Super Star Rylee, striking a pose.

What is it about kids and sand? Why do they love it so? Me, not a big fan as my pal, Raegan. She hated it! I like looking at it, that's about it. I must have post traumatic stress over having it stuck in the crotch part of my swimsuit as a little girl and not being able to get it out. I hate how you just can't brush it off, you have to actually hose down. I did go running one day in it, that wasn't too fun either. Running at a slant (in sand I might add) and trying to dodge waves so you're tennis shoes don't get soaked...well, that's a little too much work. And I must also add, one wave did get me and my tennis shoe. Argh. So, that's why my friends, we (meaning me and the kids since TJ went and played a few other times) only spent this one and only day at the beach. Just give me back my floaty and private pool, please.

The Donut Hole

After a fun day of swimming and a yummy chicken dinner cooked by the Brown's, what could be better than a visit to the Donut Hole??? Yum-O. And note to self... when it's almost bedtime and your daughter is already exhausted from swimming all day and not having a nap... do NOT let her order a cupcake which will only have the icing licked off and no actual cupcake eaten. Definitely perked the child up.

Swim Time!

And this is how Jillian has been entertaining
herself while in the pool.... how in the
world do you get them to stop opening their
mouths in the pool and drinking the water?!?!

Jillian & Raegan

We've really been enjoying our private pool so far this week. The kids are having a blast and loving the water. It's been so nice, too, because they have been crashing pretty early at night, which is so unusual from their regular schedule. Jillian has drank pretty much half the pool! Grosses me out completely. I'm sure I'll have more pool shots later this week!

Pictures Say It All...

Yay! We're all so happy to be here!
Raegan get up here!

Ok, Raegan, seriously, get up here! We can't
hold these "cheese" faces much longer!

Brock leave me alone! {Jillian hits Brock;
girls still cheesing, Raegan still not coming}

Brock unhappy for being hit, Jillian
unhappy for being scolded in front
of everyone. Girls still cheesing,
Raegan.... still not coming.

Brock pouts off, Jillian soon to follow.
Girls STILL CHEESING!
And still no Raegan...

Welcome to DESTIN!

Ahhh!!! Jillian there's a gator behind you!!

Brooklyn, Rylee, Addison, Brock, and Jillian going for a gator ride.

I spy with my little eye...

Well, we made it to Destin Sunday and we are so excited to be back together with our best buddies, the Brown's & the Iman's! YaY!!!! The first night here we explored our digs and checked out the beach and then went to dinner out at Fudpuckers. The kids enjoyed looking at the live gators and were so cute!

VBS Week 4 - The Lost Sheep

Week 3 of VBS covered the Lost Sheep parable. The kids had a fun time decorating their sacks which they used on their egg hunt. And ya gotta love those sweet little visors!

The Reason Why...

Here's why TJ & I get very little sleep at night. We have been ending up with two little sleeping beauties in our bed recently, then add the dog. Makes for nice sleeping arrangements. I guess it's just another cycle of raising kids. I had them in bed with me when they were newborns (so I could get some sleep!) and then got them sleeping through the night in their cribs. Move up to big boy beds, and the cycle of sleeping with Mama starts over again, except this time I'm not getting any sleep! Jillian isn't in her big girl bed just yet, she woke up crying, but Brock, he comes down just about everynight. Before I put him in HIS bed at night, he'll say to me, "Remember last year, when I tip toe down the stairs and come into your bed." I don't know quite where he's getting this "last year" business, but he's basically telling me, "Hey Mom, I'll see ya a little later tonight... in your bed."

(Please ignore my lack of bedroom decor! Since moving in, our
room seems to be the last place on our to-do list!)
