Jillian's 1st Birthday Party

We had Jillian's party this past Saturday. Of course, we would be the last ones to show up. Subway was late, we got on a sheet of ice road, excuses, excuses, excuses. I'm making being on time our New Year's Resolution. We'll see how that one goes, but anyways... Jillian's party was an ice cream cone/sundae theme. I went all out, or tried to anyways. I made her a cute Happy Birthday banner and I had sundae floral arrangements on the tables. I made hot chocolate ice cream cone favors and picture frames as departing gifts for our guests. We got an ice cream cone cupcake cake made for her and then her own individual cake. For future reference, don't pull the cupcakes out, cut around them, otherwise they end up looking not very pretty when you go to serve them. Jillian got lots of wonderful gifts. She had lots of helpers, Brock being the biggest help of all. When it was time for her to eat her cake, who do you think needed to show her how to dig right in? Well, Big Brother, of course! She didn't end up with it all over her, which really doesn't surprise me. She's a princess/drama queen. It was such a nice party with lots of family present. I really do enjoy the whole party planning scene. I'm looking forward to lots more birthdays in the future, but thank goodness I've got several months to rest up because I think I just about did myself in on Brock's party then Christmas and then Jillian's party. I'm exhausted! But it was ALL worth it!

The Birthday Girl!

I can't believe my little girl is ONE!!! Oh, my goodness, where does the time go these days?? We had her party on Saturday, those pictures will have to come later since they are all on my mom's camera, but we had to have cupcakes tonight to celebrate our little one year old. It's been an amazing year. God has truly blessed my sweet, little family.

What Is Your Child Doing at 10:30 PM????

I don't know what it is about nighttime, but around 10:00 every night, a little switch is flipped in Brock's body and he thinks it's time to go wild! He just runs and runs and runs and here's how we found him last night. All the lights were off, so it wasn't like we were encouraging this behavior!

Fun in a Tub

Out of all the new toys Brock and Jillian have gotten for Christmas and for their birthdays, the tub that holds all of Brock's little toy cars is the toy they like playing with the most. I've already had to replace one tub they cracked into pieces. I have a feeling this tub isn't going to be around for much longer, either!

A Roberts Family Christmas

Christmas evening we headed out to my parents' house in Gifford where we got to spend some time with Uncle Dustin, who was up from Texas, and Aunt Ashley who was home from Harding. Brock got a little power nap in the car ride from Rantoul to Gifford and it was just enough to perk him up for round three of gift opening! Brock and Jillian had such a wonderful Christmas filled with way too many fun, new presents. We are really blessed to have such a giving, caring family!

A Schlittler Family Christmas

After opening presents from Santa we had to rush to get ready to head to the Schlittler family Christmas. We were all set to go out to TJ's grandparents' house, but due to the ice, we couldn't make it out there. So, we had Christmas with his family at Moi and Papaw's house instead. The food was yummy and we had lots of fun opening even more presents! Brock and Jillian got some really neat toys and some super cute outfits.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning Brock and Jillian woke up to find that Santa had left them some cool presents! This was just the beginning of a fun-filled day of present opening.

Christmas Cookies

Christmas Eve when TJ was out working the ice storm, the kids and I decided to bake some cut out sugar cookies. I was kind of worried how well Brock would be able to do it, but he did GREAT. I think the hardest part for him, was resisting the temptation to eat the cookie dough. Put something yummy in front of that boy and he gobbles it up! But he loved pressing the cookie cutter and making sure to get LOTS of sprinkles on the iced cookies. I think by the end, as you can see in the last picture, he had had enough cookie making. He didn't really even want to eat one! Jillian on the other hand, had dough all over her face!
